I'm not crazy about the name, but since I told Clint he could name it, I guess I'll have to suck it up and deal. She loves perching on shoulders and backs.

Please let the hot weather go away, and autumn-type weather get here soon. Not only is this heat unbearable, but I went shopping today, and need cooler weather so I can wear my new shirts.

Well, that sucks

So, last week, I picked up the 2nd book in the Black Jewels trilogy by Anne Bishop. While I was reading the book yesterday, it started coming apart. It came away from the backing in 3 or 4 sections. Do you have any idea how much that bothers my OCD-ness? I can't stand for my books to be messed up like that. I'm going to take it back to Barnes and Noble to see if they will exchange it for a new copy.

Update: Got my new copy of the book. Now I'm having to struggle with my desire for immediate gratification and my need for things to the same. The books in this trilogy are not new releases, but they are re-releasing them, this time in the trade paperback format. Originally, they were in the mass market paperback. As I was looking for this particular title to get my replacement copy, I found that B&N also has all 3 titles in stock, in the mass market paperback format. They also had an ombnibus copy, but that's a different kettle of fish altogether. So. Do I give in to my desire to know Right.Now. how the story ends, and buy the m.m. paperback, or wait until the 3rd title is released in a couple of months in the trade format, so that all 3 of my copies are in the same format. OR... do I just go into B&N, grab a copy of #3, sit down in one of the chairs and read the book now, and then come back my own copy when it's released in trade?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Oh, well. Guess I'll have to wait until I can afford to pay for it myself, before I get another one.

That is so far off the mark to the point of being ludicrous. ME? Not do anything ordinary or vulgar? Bwahahahahaha! What else would you call a woman who once farted rather loudly in the store, and then turned to her son and said his name in a horrified voice, as if it was he that farted. So there's the vulgar part. And I would say I'm a very ordinary person. I've never done anything super exciting or adventurous or exotic.

A lot of times, I don't read the comments on other people's blogs. Unless I'm participating, it seems like eavesdropping on a conversation. Typos & misspelled words amuse me. I just read the comments on someone's blog, and there is a typo/spelling error that made me LOL. I wanted to make fun of it, but I don't want to hurt the person's feelings. It's just... the way they misspelled that word, makes it mean something completely different.

The English language is funny that way. Do other languages have the same quirks? Two words, pronounced the same, spelt differently, two completely different meanings - two words, spelt the same, pronounced differently? Or are the words not really pronounced the same, and it's just my so-called accent?

Anyway... I'm not going to say who made the comment or what it was, because I don't know if the person would take it as a joke, or take it as a snide comment. Since it's someone I really like, and wouldn't hurt for anything, I'm going to be nice.
