It's an update

So, I had a pretty good weekend, if you discount almost passing out from the heat. Went to the ren. festival on Saturday. Damn, it was hot out. I had a reading with stones done. I don't truly believe in that stuff, but it's sometimes interesting, anyway. She did say a couple of things that I truly believe apply to me. Walked around for a few hours, had a beer, and then it was back to the car. This is were the almost passing out comes into play. I had to park very far away from the entrance (took almost 10-15 minutes to walk from the car to the gate). So, when it was time to leave, after I had spent 3 hours walking around, it was rough. I actually had to stop and sit down in the grass for about 10 minutes. Then when I got back up and started off again. It was taking me so long to walk back to the car, and the heat was sapping me of any energy I had. I started getting dizzy, and seeing spots. Luckily for me, this young guy was pulling out of the parking lot near where I was, and gave me a lift back to my car. It only took 2 minutes to drive to my car, but the way I was feeling, it would have took 30 minutes to walk. One of these days, maybe I will start using my brain, and not go somewhere that will require me to walk around outside when it's too hot.

Sunday, I went to the movies. I saw X-Men 3. (I looooove Hugh Jackman!) I also watched Over the Hedge. Went out to eat at Texas Roadhouse, which just opened here recently. I have finally found BBQ ribs that are worthy of the description "bone-sucking" good. The sauce they make is heavenly!!!! And the Jamaican Cowboy Margarita was quite tasty, too.

Monday, I stayed in. I had several new books, so I read and did laundry. And for the first time in a while, I folded and put away all of the laundry. Hell, I even took care of some of the laundry that's been piled up on the guest bed.

I keep waffling on taking the blog down. It's not like I ever have anything exciting to blog about. When I first started the blog, I had some issues I was dealing with, and needed the outlet. But those issues have been resolved, and I really don't feel like there's much of a purpose to this blog anymore.

I think I've decided on my next two or three tattoos. Don't know when I will be able to get them, but I'm pretty sure what they will be. I'm considering a dragon, a deer, and a smiley face. And maybe a cheetah or jaguar.

UPDATE:
Computer is still down - I'm too lazy to unhook everything and take it somewhere. I stopped by the public library to check the blogs and do this update this morning. Off to the renaissance festival now. Have a good weekend, all.

'Puter problems, again!

The home computer once again has a virus. My virus software says it can't delete, clean or quarantine the file. So, until I can get it somewhere and have it fixed (or I lose my temper and beat it with a sledge hammer), I will be hit and miss online. I really don't like accessing my blog from work, so updates will be very random.

I only get an hour for lunch, and will try to keep up as much as possible with OT and the blogs, but if I don't "talk" to you guys much, this is why. I would say just email me, but I can't access gmail from work.

Regional language differences

I had commented on Bob's blog regarding soda, pop, cola or coke, and just got to wondering about something. Is it a strictly southern thing to use a brand name as a generic catch-all? When I offer someone a coke, I don't necessarily mean Coca-cola, I would also be referring to Dr. Pepper, Sprite, etc. And we do it with other items. When we did the blog recipes, I had to make a concerted effort to use evaporated milk, instead of just saying Pet milk. In case that's a regional brand, PET milk is the main brand down here for evaporated milk. Growing up, it was the ONLY brand. Now most stores carry Carnation brand also, and sometimes generic. When giving my recipe for fudge, I don't say use sweetened condensed milk, I say use Eagle Brand. I ask for a Kleenex, not a tissue. I'm sure there are others, but it's such a part of every day speech, that I may not be aware that others don't use those words.

Have you ever?

So, one night last week (or the week before) I was in "the bar" with a couple of peeps, and we started trying to out-slut each other. Then I was reading in a blog just now, about how this blogger had a "whore-off" with a couple of peeps while at dinner recently. I had been thinking this would make an interesting blog entry, and if you like, you could even turn it into a drinking game. *grin* I'm going to ask several personal, intrusive questions, and if you have ever, take a drink. After you've read all the questions, perhaps you will be drunk enough to answer them here. Or maybe you won't need to be drunk.

Have you ever:

taken nude pics of yourself (or had someone else take them)?

posted nude pics of yourself on the internet?

made a sex tape?

shown your sex tape to others?

had sex in a public place?

been seen having sex in a public place (and keep going)?

taken part in a 3-some?

taken part in a more than 3-some?

had sex with someone you just met?

had cyber sex?

picked someone up in a bar for the sole purpose of having sex?

paid for sex?

been paid for sex?

masturbated while at work?

had sex at your workplace?

had sex in your boss's office?

had sex with your boss?

made out and/or had sex with someone of the same sex out of curiosity?

been tied up while having sex?

tied your partner up to have sex?

wanted to be tied up?

spanked your partner?

been spanked by your partner?

been blindfolded for sex?

eaten an ice cream sundae off of your partner's body?

used other food stuff during sex?

And if there is anything you have done, but I didn't ask about, feel free to share. *grin*
If you don't want to say specifically what you've done, tell me how many drinks you would have to take.

To be, or not to be...

Sensible, that is. *grin*

I just sold some stock. I know the responsible, grown-up thing to do, considering how much debt I'm in, would be to use every bit of this money to pay towards my credit cards. I will be able to completely pay off one, and could pay a nice chunk off of another one. I'm going to have to use this to pay some of my regular bills because there's just not enough paycheck to go around. But I sooooo want to get another tattoo. I am so tempted to take $200 of this money to do that. And I know it would be totally irresponsible of me to do this. I mean, I'm going to have my home phone cut off and am considering having the cable and internet shut off, too, to help ease the financial situation. Gawd, I hate being an adult sometimes.

I'm taking a week's vacation in June, and then another week in July. And it's going to totally suck because I'm not going to be able to do anything. I'm going to Arkansas the week in July because it's arkieboy's birthday, and I've taken that particular week off ever since he was born. I wanted him to come up here for one of the weeks, but he doesn't want to. So, Yay! I'll be spending a week with no a/c, no internet, no cable, and a minimum of 30 miles away from anything to do. I just hope the gas prices don't get any worse than what they are now, but I'm sure they will.

I went to the bowling alley bar last night after work. I had a new drink, but Dana couldn't remember the name of it, so if I ever go somewhere else, I won't know what to order!!! It has Parrot Bay, amaretto, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice in it. Do any of you know the name of this drink? And I am so proud of myself! While I was sitting at the bar, I actually started a conversation with the man sitting next to me. He had several tattoos, and I asked him what one was, because I really couldn't tell. So we chatted about tatts for a little while. I NEVER do that, I never start a converstation with a stranger, I'm usually too shy and self-conscious. So, that's a big deal for me.

Wait, what?

I don't know if I was just naive/oblivious at first, or overly suspicious later. I had received a *smile* from this guy on the dating site. I read his profile, and while it didn't wow me, he seemed nice, and I got a chuckle from some of his answers. So, a couple of *smiles* back and forth, then he emails me. I email back, and I comment on his profile. First, let me show the part of his profile I referenced:

Describe some of the most important things in your life:
chocolate
Describe your perfect day:
eating chocolate
One final thing I'd like to mention...
i like chocolate

So, I make the comment: I thought to myself, any man who seems to like chocolate as much as you do is probably someone I would like to get to know.

He replies back: hi, id love to share my chocolate with you, do you like english chocolat,

All of a sudden, I'm not so sure we're talking about chocolate. I haven't replied back, because I'm not sure we're on the same page. How do you ask someone if they're using code without sounding overly suspicious and paranoid? Or do you keep carrying on the conversation, and end up being overly naive?

*************************************************

Last week, something was said to me that really hurt my feelings. I know sometimes I can be over-sensitive, but I think this really crossed the line. My boss's husband works for the company, too. He and I go back and forth with the insults, etc all the time. I'm forever flipping him off, and telling him to "bite me". Well, we were talking about something, and he said something about how bad it is that our lives have no more meaning than I know what value codes go in form locator 43 (which is not correct, value codes go in FL 39-41, but that's neither here nor there), and he knows, well, whatever the hell it is he does. *grin* Anyway, I said thanks for telling me my life is meaningless. The next day, my boss was talking about how the other co-workers had cleared out the cubicle of the woman who just left. I said something about not getting anything. So, boss's hubby makes a crack about when I commit suicide, he wants my radio. When I commit suicide? Oh, yeah! That is sooooooo funny! NOT. I refused to speak to him the next day. Would not say a word. Would have kept it up longer, but something work related came up, and I had to talk to him. I think people that know me IRL, because I'm so sarcastic most of the time and pretty much anti-social, forget that I actually have feelings.

*******************************************

I had said something to my son about finances being pretty tight, and he suggested that I take him and we just leave the country, change our names and start over. Of course, I told him that it was out of the question, and it would be very irresponsible. But you know, sometimes the thought of just running away and starting anew is tempting. *shrugs*

*temper tantrum*

(Monsty, you (and any others who find foul language offensive) may not want to read this. )

I hate my fucking computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hate it, hate it, hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *kicks computer*

My computer has a CD drive, and a DVD drive. Supposedly, a person could burn CD's and DVD's with this computer. Well, I can burn the CD's but I cannot burn a fucking video onto the DVD. This is pissing me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mother fucking computer! I fucking hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First I bought a damn 25-pack of DVD+R. Tried to burn a video, and kept getting a message telling me to put a dvd in the drive. Well, the fucking disc was already there, dammit!!!! I ask one of the IT guys from work for any suggestions, and he said that it may have to do with the type of disc - that there are DVD+R and DVD-R. So, today I go and buy the smallest pack I can find (3) of a DVD-RW. It still won't fucking burn the damn fucking video, and tells me to put a disc in the fucking drive, but it's already fucking there!!!!!! FUCK, FUCK, FUCK!!!!! Why is this damn thing not fucking working for me???

My pegasus collection

(Click on the pictures for a larger view)
These were the beginning of my collection:

My brother and SIL had sent me money for either Christmas or my birthday one year, and I decided to buy the male figure pictured here. Then, because I have to everything in a series, I kept going back until I had them all.

These two are pewter, and a lot smaller than they appear in the picture. I bought the little one at the Ren. festival last year.

These two cross collections. They are both musical, and as you can see, the one is also a waterglobe.

Then I have these. I really don't collect stuffed animals, but I couldn't resist these.

collections

What do you collect? What made you start collecting those things? When adding to your collection, do you have a certain mental checklist of criteria that the item must meet? How many things do you have to have, before it's a "collection"?

I have a few collections. I collect cookbooks, I guess you could say I collect paperback romances, because I keep almost all of those that I buy, I also collect Pegasus items, wolf figurines, waterglobes and music boxes, and I have recently started collecting shot glasses.

This is what I have so far in my shot glass collection:

The first one (going left to right) is from BB King's in Memphis, when I went to the Memphis in May music festival last year, and met Asrai. Next is the one I picked up in Florida last year, when I went on a business trip. The third and fifth ones are from my recent trip to Texas, which was a business trip and a peep meet. The fourth one was given to me by Doomie. It says "I don't care if he calls or not". The last one is from my home state of Arkansas. On the back, it has 5 different level markers, and the directions. 1. Get favorite beverage. 2. Fill to level of favorite bloodsucker (beginning with Used car salesman, then lawyer, ex-wife, dracula, and ending at the top with Arkansas Skeeter). 3. SUCK IT DRY!

Maybe for another post, I'll do one of my other collections. If anyone's interested in seeing them, that is.

.

I seem to have lost some of my sense of touch in my hands. Mostly my right hand. I can't really feel things in the fingertips of my first two fingers. I thought the loss was only in the fingertips until yesterday. I had went to the "Main Street Festival" yesterday, and had gotten something to eat from one of the food vendors. It was wrapped in foil and very hot. I was holding it and gradually became aware that it was burning my hand. Not like a serious burn, but it scared me that it took a minute or so for me to be aware of the burning feeling. Like it had to get past the first layer of skin for me to feel it. Or maybe my nerves are just slow in relaying the information? I don't know, but it worries me. I wonder if it's related to diabetes, or if this is something else. I haven't been taking my diabetes medicine like I'm supposed to, and I've quit monitoring my diet like I need to be doing. But I checked my FBS this morning, and it was only 107. According to the American Diabetes Association's website, that is still just "pre-diabetes".

Fuck this shit.

I feel like I'm back in fucking high school. People whispering behind everyone's back, trying to start shit. I didn't need this kind of shit when I was 16, and I don't fucking need it now.

I don't always state my true opinion out in the open, because as much as I may wish otherwise, I'm too insecure to do so. So, I keep it to myself for the most part, and will occasionally give voice to it to maybe one other person. I try to go by the saying of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything."

I don't see the point in attacking people, anonymously or otherwise. Truthfully, life's too short to deal with assholes. They're not fucking worth it.

If I find someone's lifestyle and choices either offensive or just not to my liking, I distance myself from them as much as I can. Maybe I have the "head in the sand" outlook too much, but that's how I am. I don't tell people I disagree with their life, because it's their life to live how they see fit. *shrugs* As long as you're not infringing on my life, I don't really give a fuck what you do. I'm very self-centered like that.

And I am judgemental. I'll admit it. I know it's not my place to judge, but I do it anyway in some instances. In my opinion, if someone says they are not judgemental, ever, I think they're full of shit.

I wish I was ballsy enough to be more honest, but even now, typing this, I'm wavering between posting this, or moving it to my private blog, or deleting it all together.

But for now, I think I will post it. And hell, I'll leave the comments open the way I always have - blogger, other, or anonymous.

Just a quick note

My home computer is effed up, and it's not letting me read a lot of the blogs or OT. Work computer is fine, but they expect me to use it for work.

Miss you guys, and hope to get my home PC fixed soon so I can be back online in the evenings! *SMOOCH*

From "Tuesday is Chooseday"

Would you rather:

1. be stuck beside somebody with horrible body odor on a crowded subway car for 10 stops OR against someone with an obvious erection on a long elevator ride?

2. find out your parents kidnapped you when you were a baby and raised you as their own OR find out you had a twin that died at birth that they never told you about?

3. find out now that you will die exactly on your 70th birthday OR never know?

4. have regular encounters with aliens and not have any proof OR have your best friend be invisible?

Five on Friday meme

1. What are your favorite ethnic/regional cuisines (Italian, Mexican, Thai, etc.)?

2. When visit a restaurant serving that kind of food, what do you generally order?

3. Which ethnic food or dish is your favorite to make yourself?

4. If you could travel to one country or region, just to experience the food, where would you go?

5. Where would you not want to go because of the food?

My answers:
1. Thai and Mexican
2. For thai, it's always Khaeng Phed (Red Curry), with chicken and hot, unless I'm feeling brave, then I go with native. For Mexican, it depends on the restaurant. I love Chili Rellenos, but there is only one restaurant here that makes them the way I like them.
3. I'm not much of a cook, so I would have to wimp out, and say tacos.
4. Hmmm, I think Italy.
5. Vietnam. I am basing this on one visit to a Vietnamese restaurant here.
