Bowling

A couple of years ago I posted this. Well, finally, after bowling for 7 years now, I've actually started to improve. For the last two weeks, I have bowled better than I ever have. I'm still not good, I'll probably never have a 200 game, but I'm still happy with this. Last week I bowled a 120, 109, 148, and then last night I bowled a 103, 130, and 148.

I'm on a completely different team this year. I wasn't even going to bowl. M had left the company (her position was phased out), J went back to Arkansas (the damn hussy), and when I talked to S, she didn't really want to bowl either. M had said she still wanted to bowl, but I wasn't too sure that she would want to drive down every Friday night to bowl. Plus I was really afraid that M & S would want T to be our 4th. And there was just no way in hell I was going to spend my Friday nights with someone I really don't like to be around. But then one of the guys in the office was getting a team together and asked if I wanted to be on it. Just me & 3 guys who like to drink and tell dirty jokes. My kind of people. *grin* I am really having fun. Probably because I'm actually doing better for once. One of the other men in the league complimented me last night, and said I was really improving, and that it was because my form was so much better than last year, and I was consistent. Which is funny, because I have always thought I was doing everything the same each time, anyway. When I said that, he just shook his head and said "no, you weren't."

Nicely done, Arkie!

I'd like to get back into a bowling league someday . . . after my elbow gets operated on and my wrist improves.

My game is pretty erratic; my bolwing scores resemble golf scores, and vice versa. But I throw the ball really hard! :-)

I love to bowl, but haven't in a long time. I used to be pretty good!

The nice thing about being where you are bowlingwise, is that you really *can* improve, and an improving bowler is GOLD to a team (assuming you're playing in a handicap league). You're probably their secret weapon!

Yay for you! It must be so much fun hanging with the guys.

Good job, Arkie. I'm glad that you decided to bowl because I know that you enjoy yourself. *smooch*

Yay Arkie! That sounds like fun. But you left out an important detail... are any of the guys cute? *grin*

I haven't been bowling in a very long time, but I think I usually score somewhere in the 70's. *snort*

Sadly, Jen, no, not really. There is one guy - he doesn't work for our company, but for another company that we are affiliated with, that's kind of cute, and funny as hell. But I think he's married. I know he got married 3-4 years ago, but I've noticed this year that he's not wearing a ring.

How fun! Much better to bowl with the guys. And you got a compliment on your "form." Keep up the good work. I miss bowling.

I can't remember the last time I went bowling, so I'm jealous.

It sounds like you're with a nice group of people - that's GOLD in my book. Does your team have a name?

My stepdad makes it a point to tell me what he bowls. Last week it was a 213. I used to like to go bowling but rarely ever bowled.

Hi arkie!

You sound like me. Several years ago Mr. Fro talked me into being in a summer bowling league even though I'd never really bowled before (aside from birthday parties and goofing around on Friday nights.) My scores were A LOT like your original scores were, but hey, it was fun. The only way to improve is just to bowl regularly.

Last year Mr. Fro and I joined a 35-week league that a coworker of mine was in. It is a small league, only 6 teams, and most of the people in it are elderly. Still, it was fun even though sad to say we came in 3rd place to the elderly people, two of whom have since passed away.

I was supposed to be in the league this year (and be league secretary, woowoo) but I wound up sticking Mr. Fro alone with it when I got preggo. I miss it, it was really fun.

Those are great scores! Go you!

Yay for you Arkie.

I am terrible at bowling, except for Wii Bowling.

Bowling is fun, even though I suck at it. My parents were/are excellent bowlers but that did not get passed on to their children.
