I generally don't make New Year's resolutions. And I'm really not making one now. But I do plan to try to have a better attitude in the coming year. I will have hope, and I will try to be wise. And I will work towards being the person I should be.

I'll tell you what, Arkie: my attitude needs adjustment too.
Today at werq, one of my cow-orkers kept whining about how he hadn't had a day off in so long, how he'd been working until 10 the night before (the shift starts at 6 AM), and didn't want to do extra work.
I told him to quit his whining. But when I talked to someone else later, he said maybe the best thing for me to do was to forgive him his trespass here. I can get so hung up on being right, I forget what it means to be loving. How much slack have people cut me? I bet it's more than I think.
After he said this, I felt better. The resentment wasn't hurting my cow-orker any now, was it? I so do not have to act on my feelings only.
I wish you well, hon, and I'm there with you. #smooch#
Cyg, have you ever read the book Fish!? I had read it for a class I was taking. One of the messages of the book, which is such a simple concept but so many don't put into action, is that while we cannot control others actions, we can choose how we react to those actions. Basically, per the book, we can choose to be happy, we can choose to be tolerant, and so on. I wish I still had my copy of that book, but I think I got rid of it because I used it to kill a spider, and it had bug guts all over the back. If you haven't read it, I would recommend doing so if you ever come across it.
I'll keep that in mind! I'm not familiar with it. Thanks!
I really like the last one. I think that's one we could all remember! Well, not me, but everyone else. ;-)
I wish you nothing but the best in 2007, Arkie. You deserve it.
Here's hoping for a better us for everyone this year. *smooch*
*hugs* Good for you, Arkie. I am going to look for that "Fish" book at the library tonight.
Choosing to be inspired is better than a resolution, IMO. *feels all inspired by Arkie*
Hi Arkie!
Let's toast to a new, better, and improved year!!!
Your last two posts have inspired me, also.
Ooooo, I cannot wait for you to get what I sent you!
(Or I should say, what I plan to send you this week.)
And while I am here, one person long ago once told me that the greatest gift we have is the ability to change our minds. On some level, perception creates reality. I have always cherished what this person taught me.
a positive attitude takes practice. Little steps. *smooch*
I like you just the way you are, but good for you. A positive attitude is a great goal. *kicksmooch*
We all need attitude adjustments from time to time but you are a super sweet person and I only wish you the best for the New Year.
I am having Fish! sent over to the library I frequent. *Smooch*
