Thank God it's over.

I had enough "family togetherness" to last me for the next 3 years. Next year, I'm doing what I want. arkieboy can either spend Christmas with his dad, or he can come to my house. I am not going to my parents house. From now on, when I go down to see arkieboy, I'm staying at a motel, or I will be picking arkieboy up and taking him home for a visit.

That well, eh? *hugs* Your decision sounds fair.

I have such a flat feeling about this year's Christmas celebrations. I just didn't have my usual good time.

Chris made me do a Christmas SWOT analysis to figure out how to do it all better next year.

Well, that doesn't sound like you had a very good Christmas. I'm sorry. :(

Sounds good to me, Arkie. Sometimes it's nice to see your family, and sometimes it's nice to see your family in the rear-view mirror.

I would happily do Christmas in a hotel, but only if I could bring my tree.

Thanks, everyone. *hugs* *smooch*

Kim, what's a SWOT?

That is so true, Swami.

Boo, that sounds like an excellent plan. I'll start saving for the plane tickets right away. *grin*

Well, since I doubt I'll ever be invited to J's parents, we should do Christmas on a Caribbean island somewhere.
*samooch*

Sometimes it's better to live in the same town as your family. You only have to see them for short periods of time, like for a couple of hours. If someone lives out of town, it's 24/7 when visiting. I don't think I could tolerate that.

Or! We can all go to Swami's for meatloaf and popevers!

*smooch* I miss you.

We really need to get Chris a new hobby.

*hugs* Arkie. Sometimes, I'm glad I don't have much of a family to contend with.

Sorry your Christmas wasn't good, but I know how family can ruin things for you. That's why I'd rather stay home in my own little abode.

Next year we hope to host one of the holidays. It will give SIL a break, and I'd rather be here.

I'll miss being with my family tonight because I'm not feeling well. But I'll give them a call.

The Puffy Principle holds true for us with my 'rents, who are 45 minutes away. And when the ILs come, they always stay in hotels . . . by their choice. We'll be seeing them in a couple weeks.
