The home computer once again has a virus. My virus software says it can't delete, clean or quarantine the file. So, until I can get it somewhere and have it fixed (or I lose my temper and beat it with a sledge hammer), I will be hit and miss online. I really don't like accessing my blog from work, so updates will be very random.
I only get an hour for lunch, and will try to keep up as much as possible with OT and the blogs, but if I don't "talk" to you guys much, this is why. I would say just email me, but I can't access gmail from work.

Most of the time when the virus program gives that particular error it's because the virus is resident when the machine is fully running. If you can, boot into safe mode and run your virusscan or open a dos window and delete the offending file.
um yeah, I was going to say the same thing as CSTL.
MM <--pretending to know something/anything
Hope you're back with us full time, soon!
If it's a Dell, they have great phone support. They could probably walk you through the entire process of deleting the file. I once had dell talk me through a disassembling of the computer and then they walked me through putting it all back together again.
That stinks, arkie.
I hope you get you puter fixed. How awful to be without it. *shudders*
Calling bloggy tech support. Calling bloggy tech support.
Oh no! *pouts*
I will miss you! Hope you can get it fixed up soon!
Arkie, what kind of virus. I got these two (I can't remember the names) that kept appearing. Basically they were a nusiance but the whole premise of them was to get you to buy anti-span software which kept downloading and asking me to buy it. I went on Yahoo and searched for the name of the program which kept trying to download and found information on how to get rid of it.
Just a thought.
Lasann's advice is actually pretty good too. Google is like geek heaven. If you know the name of the virus, you can google it from work and more than likely find removal instructions at the same time.
Poor baby. This is from trying to make porn DVDs, right?
Hope you can get it fixed soon.
Poor Arkie!
I feel so lucky that I have a resident and vigilant geek living with me.
I hope you lick that virus soon!
*raises fist in solidarity with Arkie*
Puter problems suck.
*hugs*
*pout*
I've been there. Do the CSTL safe mode thingy. That's what the people at HP told me to do last year.
*pout*
Is it fixed yet?
*waits*
*smooch*
