four weeks in...

So, the last two weeks have been challenging. I had a major toothache two weekends ago, and had to have a root canal on Tuesday. Because I felt so bad, I didn't go to my normal Weight Watcher's meeting that Monday. But, small victory here, instead of my normal behavior pattern of just blowing it off altogether and then probably quitting, I went on Wednesday. I only lost .4 pounds that week. Bummer. But, then when I went this week on Monday, I had lost 3.8 pounds, bringing my total loss since rejoining to 9.2 pounds! *happy dance*

I'm still having a hard time truly committing to the program and counting my points. I need to quit thinking so much about what I can't have, because truly, as long as I work it into my points, I can still indulge every so often.

Back at it

I really don't even know where to start. I haven't been on the blogs in so long, I feel lost. I don't know if anyone will read this, but I guess that's not really important.

At my doctor's appointment back in May(?), I had still lost weight, but the phen-whatever wasn't as effective as when I started it. I told the doc that I thought I either needed to come off the medicine, or have the dose increased. We decided to discontinue the prescription. I was to come back in August for a check up to see how I was doing on my own, as far as the weight management. August came around, and I rescheduled my appointment for September because I knew I hadn't done very well. I told myself I would really step it up and have a positive outcome at my appointment. September got here, and I found that I had gained 20 of those lost pounds back. TWENTY. Geez.

After discussing my options with the doctor (who keeps bringing up surgery, which isn't an option because my insurance will not pay anything for treatment of obesity), it was decided that I would join Weight Watchers. I had done this a few years ago, and had been successful while on the program, so I'm giving it another shot.

I re-joined WW that very evening. My starting weight was 321.6. I lost 3 pounds the first week, and 2 pounds the second week. I've had a hard time getting with the program and counting my points as I need to, but even with the non-compliance, I'm still having losses, so I know it will work. I just have to focus, and really commit to the program.
