I'm so upset with myself after last night's weigh-in. *sigh*
I've been totally yo-yo'ing on my weight, but this is so bad. Last week I had lost 5.6, but this week I've gained 7.8. How the hell do you gain over seven pounds in one week? This makes me heavier than when I started Weight Watchers. Geez. I honestly thought I had done pretty well on sticking to the plan this past week. I know some of it is water retention (really. I'm not just trying to use that as an excuse. My ankles were pretty swollen), but almost 8 pounds???? I just wanted to cry when I got home.

four weeks in...
So, the last two weeks have been challenging. I had a major toothache two weekends ago, and had to have a root canal on Tuesday. Because I felt so bad, I didn't go to my normal Weight Watcher's meeting that Monday. But, small victory here, instead of my normal behavior pattern of just blowing it off altogether and then probably quitting, I went on Wednesday. I only lost .4 pounds that week. Bummer. But, then when I went this week on Monday, I had lost 3.8 pounds, bringing my total loss since rejoining to 9.2 pounds! *happy dance*
I'm still having a hard time truly committing to the program and counting my points. I need to quit thinking so much about what I can't have, because truly, as long as I work it into my points, I can still indulge every so often.

Back at it
I really don't even know where to start. I haven't been on the blogs in so long, I feel lost. I don't know if anyone will read this, but I guess that's not really important.
At my doctor's appointment back in May(?), I had still lost weight, but the phen-whatever wasn't as effective as when I started it. I told the doc that I thought I either needed to come off the medicine, or have the dose increased. We decided to discontinue the prescription. I was to come back in August for a check up to see how I was doing on my own, as far as the weight management. August came around, and I rescheduled my appointment for September because I knew I hadn't done very well. I told myself I would really step it up and have a positive outcome at my appointment. September got here, and I found that I had gained 20 of those lost pounds back. TWENTY. Geez.
After discussing my options with the doctor (who keeps bringing up surgery, which isn't an option because my insurance will not pay anything for treatment of obesity), it was decided that I would join Weight Watchers. I had done this a few years ago, and had been successful while on the program, so I'm giving it another shot.
I re-joined WW that very evening. My starting weight was 321.6. I lost 3 pounds the first week, and 2 pounds the second week. I've had a hard time getting with the program and counting my points as I need to, but even with the non-compliance, I'm still having losses, so I know it will work. I just have to focus, and really commit to the program.

Not really an update
I refuse to weigh on my home scale, so I don't really know how I'm doing on the weight. I had to have a colonoscopy in February, and even after being on a liquid diet, and then taking that uber-laxative type stuff to completely clean me out before the procedure, my scales showed me having a weight GAIN!!!!!! of 9 pounds, so I've decided that my scale is just messed up. RE: the procedure, I had 4 or 5 polyps that, while beign, are the type that do become cancerous. All that means is that I have to have this procedure again in a couple of years. The doctor was mainly concerned because apparently it is rare for these polyps to show up in someone my age (Yay! I'm still too young for some things!)
I have yet to take the iron tabs on the schedule I'm supposed to for more than 2 days in a row. The whole no drinking coffee or tea or eating dairy, eggs, whole grain bread, or cereal until one hour after or up to two hours before taking the med is just hard to work with, for me, anyway. Besides, since the rectal bleeding was for 'rhoids, and not from anything further up, it was decided that the anemia was related to my periods. That hasn't happened since January (until this last week), so voila! in my professional opinion, I'm no longer anemiac. (That's right, I said in my professional opinion. My professional opinion as a medical BILLER, not technician. :D)
Tummy - I agree, I thought the identity of Kisten's killer was a let down. Almost a total non-event.

1/30/09 Dr's visist
So, I went to the doctor last Friday. I weighed 305. Woo hoo! My pants are all loose and floppy. But I'm going to wait a few more months before I start buying any replacement clothes.
On the bad news side, apparently I'm suffering from an iron deficiency. After the lab work came back, I received a call from the nurse to let me know that the doc wants me to take iron sulfate(?) 3x a day, and he's increasing the dosage on one of the other meds - the thyroid one.
